Living with the Mentawai people in Indonesia, sharing their harmonious relationship with the tropical forest and natural wisdom, changed my life forever. When I realized they were facing rapid assimilation and extinction, my involvement evolved into a lifetime commitment to educating people about native cultures and assisting traditional communities all over the world. Native Planet was born! Toward the success of these objectives, we now offer direct, culturally-sensitive assistance to the Mentawai and other traditional communities, expanded coverage of additional threatened cultures and the continued use of expeditions and cultural documentaries to enhance global awareness of our cause.
