Experienced Web Designer
We are looking for a professional web designer to re-create a Native Planet
sister site. This assignment requires unique and creative vision, the
ability to transfer our philosophy to a site design and strong logic and
architecture skills. This is a high traffic site and will provide excellent
exposure for your work; credit will be given on this site and we can also
offer a link to your site.
We require a commitment of 6-10 hours per week
for six months or more to ensure that we obtain a product that is completely

Web Design Application Specialist
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Web Design & Application Specialist.
Reporting to the IT Manager and liaising with users, you will be intimately
involved in the upgrading and improved design of the main Native Planet
website. You will have more than two years experience of PHP Programming
and working knowledge of MySQL, ASP, CGI, PERL, FLASH, JAVA and Jscript.
You should ideally have web design skills with knowledge of SEO, CMS and
creating and maintaining an online database. The initial emphasis will
be on assisting the Indigenous Mapping Project to optimize webpage production,
publication and update through use of a database. You must be able to
write/edit HTML code without a WYSIWYG editor. This is an exciting opportunity
to contribute to a dynamic and evolving non-profit organisation dedicated
to the self-empowerment of indigenous peoples and the preservation of
their cultures.
We are looking for a minimum commitment 6-10 hours per week, for at

SEO Specialist
We are also looking for a talented and dedicated SEO Specialist. Reporting
to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for implementing various SEO
strategies to increase our rankings. You will have more than two years
SEO experience, current knowledge of industry trends and best practice,
HTML hand-coding skills and be well versed in linking strategies. You
will have an understanding of how the various internet search engines
function, combined with marketing the organisation and be comfortable
with web design. You should have success in achieving top rankings on
the major search engines, with a focus on applying this experience in
an NGO context. Strong keyword research and analytical skills and commitment
to ethical, white-hat SEO practices are essential. Some familiarity with
search-engine spider technology, CSS and scripting languages are a bonus.
Programming would be a plus but is not a requirement. This is an exciting
opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and evolving non-profit organisation
