Cultural Recognition
Native Planet's primary goal is to assure global recognition of indigenous issues, including cultural preservation, economic stability and human rights. We proudly feature documentaries on the
Bishnoi and Bhil and the
Bopa and Kalbeliya people, exotic traditional inhabitants of Rajasthan’s deserts.
Self-empowerment
Nitigat and Native Planet also assist by launching schools, digging wells, building and filling water tanks and encouraging sustainable crops and sponsored fair-trade craft cooperatives and similar projects preserve traditional knowledge and promote economic self-empowerment.
The Raika Project The nomadic Raika people, entrusted for thousands of years with the care of royal herds, migrated annually to higher, greener ground before the border with Pakistan closed. Today, the increasing number of farmers fencing fields that were once open lands threatens the Raika,
making them an easy target for bandits and corrupt authorities. We are seeking
authorization and local cooperation to allow them passage; when they can no
longer migrate, they will vanish.
