A brief description of our destinations that are still un-chartered and remain virtually unknown to foreigners This is a small town in Sekhawati that is not on the tourist map. In this village the landlord has a castle that is over 600 years old. Built in the 15th century, this magnificent structure is filled with carvings, paintings, and sculptures. This town is made up of three distinct Rajasthani cultures who co-exist peacefully and produce a unique blend experiences. Our travel company has secured exclusive permission to visit this beautiful place, which is off the beaten track. En route from Jaipur to Bikaner, tourists generally stay in Mandawa. To provide a special experience for our guests, we have instead chosen Mehansar, which is more remote and hidden from the public. This town of about 600 houses includes a large number of old, finely constructed havelis as well as the finest castle in the area. Our guests can enjoy delicious local wines made from fennel, cardamom, black pepper and mint. On our way from Biakner to Jaisalmer we can visit this small village in the deep desert. Situated about 50 km from the main road, this village is popular for its camels. Visitors can stay here for one night in the quaint and charming huts, some of which have an attached bathroom. On the following morning we will head off into the deeper desert on a camel safari. This village is also known as the birthplace of the Bishnoi guru (master), Jambhoji. This tiny village is located en route from Bikaner to Jaisalmer. This area is a well-known sanctuary for migrant birds, most notably migratory Siberian cranes. The local people consider themselves the cranes’ guardians. Our tour participants will visit old historical buildings and sleep peacefully out among the sand dunes, camping under the stars. One hundred and sixty km from Jaisalmer lies the small remote town known in ancient times as a guard post between the desert and the sea. The remains of an ancient civilization dating back 5000 years have been discovered here and can be explored and viewed by our tour participants. There are also beautiful Jain and Hindu temples in this village. Exquisite local handicrafts such as patchwork and other hand-sewn items are available here. This village is the biggest stationary out-post [what is this?] for the semi-nomadic Raika peoples. The landlord of this village has a fortress that he has converted into a small guesthouse. Outside the main tourist route, Bhenswara offers our guests a unique experience. This village is found en route from Mt. Abu to Udaipur, and is known for its ancestral tribal warriors who protected the kings of olden times. The village is separated into two states, the Marwar and Godwar. Surrounded by the Aravali hills, our guests can observe the local wildlife in its natural environment. |
